You’ve already heard the rumours, now discover for yourself how YOU too can start making Serious Yen as a Wedding Minister in Japan.
The fake wedding pastor gig in Japan is the kind of business that projects a bad image of the individual. You would be inclined in thinking that those in the profession all suffer from short term thinking, blinded by the search for profit. Putting the morality aside, (remember that it is just a show), how does working as a wedding minister in Japan allows for survival prepping? First there is the geographical aspect. In my first years of assignments in the “suburbs”, I found I have greatly increased my sense of direction. I am more aware of the geography of Japan and that is useful when time to bug out comes. That long walk in dark streets last year reinforced the impression that I was not doing any of this for nothing. Pretty far from the fantasy world depicted in fantasy survival books available on Amazon.
I also got the chance to learn about the small scale farming business far more than if I had stayed in Tokyo all the time. In between assignment there sometimes time to kill and I have used it to look around for land. Another fantasy maybe, but self-sufficiency is the path to liberty for everyman.
But Japan being what it is, with convenience store and talking vending machine, the need to prep is always hidden behind the “benliness” of the country.
I’m a big fan for Leopalace21. The international office is very helpful and I’ve got only got experience with them. Local offices are a pain tough, they can’t answer questions and moreover they don’t speak English. It’s easy to rent for a month and it allows me to do my wedding minister work in different prefecture. Since I never stay at the same place for long it is a good way. Also these days I avoid Toyko, so my cash can do more. In Tokyo there is Sakura house, but I find that once you are there, they don’t really take care of your concerns with the properties. I have been told of many reports of massive water leaks. One guy could not sleep, his bed was all wet but Sakura House management never helped him he said. When there is fire there is smoke.
Also something I believe give some credence to those comments is the fact that Japanese citizen are barred from staying in Sakura House apartments, even when sharing with a non-Japanese spouse. Japanese could easily complain and would have recourse under Japanese law. Remember that non-Japanese have no basic human rights.
Prove me wrong, I welcome your comments on your experience with Sakura House.
Nenkin, that word represents everything that is wrong with Japan. For now, what you pay as a foreigner, you can get back when you leave. Either as a cash payment or as a credit toward your home country pension system, provided that they have an agreement with Japan.
2 points that you should keep in mind: every foreigners need to pay that “tax”, even if you are already paying one in your home country. But Japan doesn’t have any money; don’t count on getting back what you paid them. That is just plain stealing.
Don’t worry, they also steal from the Japanese, everyone is equal. If you are sick enough to consider retiring in Japan, you might have to sue your city because some of them will refuse paying benefits under the motive of you being a non-Japanese. ( One case went to supreme court )
Remember, there is no more money. No more. Not only Japan, there is no more money anywhere, just that Japan is the worst offender.
It’s up to you to take care of your own business. Multiply your earning skills. Open many overseas bank accounts. Be aware, be prepared.
Yes, I am predicting capital control in Japan soon…
I agree that they are not the most affordable ones, but they know the meaning of service. Moreover if your business has anything to do with Japan, forget about outsourced help from the Philippines. Japanese have zero tolerance for accents over the phone for customer service. We should be as demanding. ( let be controversial here for the sake of just because I want to)
Here is the full list of things I managed to get done by my Japanese assistant. Yes, when I’m not playing the fake wedding minister,I’m trying to get some other income.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Tim Ferris is a role model but he certainly is saying a lot of cleaver things. Much of his book I agree of. Of course there are some parts that are disputable but that are just a personal opinion. The ‘muse’ side of the book got a lot of people starting sites hoping for the best. It is not that easy sorry.
I believe Tim Ferris is not a fake and this is not a scam.
Much of what he wrote is backed by experimentation and scientific evidence. Now it’s up to the reader to perform his own experiments.
Remember to look my book on finding a fake minister job in japan…
So for any kind of work, invest in a plane ticket back home. Insured or not, it is worth it.
However, if you are working full time as a Wedding Minister, or even as a replacement. It is very difficult to get time off. It is then very important to maintain dental hygiene. It’s always good, but it is even a survival matter to care for your teeth in Japan.
Message: Don’t forget to look my Japanese wedding pastor script, a sure way to earn some money on the side.
Now that’s an idea that won’t be as much popular as I want. Homesteading usually means to isolate yourself in some remote place in Japan where the Japanese themselves left in droves.
Japan probably does not come to mind when considering buying a farm or developing a piece of land, but because of some interesting economics, Japan should be on anyone’s list of possibilities if homesteading is something you consider.
Of course avoid the north of the country, but I would like to counter this by saying that there will be good clean property available for a steal near Fukushima.
I talked how important it was to be able to earn money outside Japan. If you earn it, inside japan, you need to get it out as soon as possible.
You absolutely need to have a backup plan and have a bank account outside Japan.
Because when they introduce capital flow control when the Japanese debt crises arrive, you will be glad you did. Anywhere but Japan or America.
How to get a lawyer in Japan on retainer that is both willing and competent to act on civil and criminal litigation and is open to deal with foreigners specific problematic?
I am open on recommendation on this one.
